Sir Stuart Hampson
Former Chairman of John Lewis & Keynote Speaker
Sir Stuart Hampson is the former chairman of the John Lewis Partnership and currently the Chairman of the Crown Estate. He is a speaker on customer service, retail brands, and employee engagement.
Sir Stuart was chairman of John Lewis for 14 years and presided the team through a programme of modernisation while maintaining their partnership ethos and principles. He was chairman at the time when John Lewis Direct and Ocado first went live. He retired from John Lewis in 2006 and embarked on his speaking career.
We was knighted in 1998 and was appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in the 2016 Birthday Honours.
Following his retirement, Hampson joined the corporate speaking circuit in 2009 to lecture on the John Lewis ethos and pass on his vision of employee engagement and employee ownership.
