DESIGN WORK
Oliver’s design practice, Oliver Heath Design, is industry-leading in the field of sustainable design. Championing a human-centred design approach, the practice uses research-led insights to implement biophilic design across all building types. From urban planning to architecture and interior design, their vision is to support physical and mental health and wellbeing across all aspects of the built environment.
Oliver Heath Design has worked on a range of prestigious design projects, creating biophilic interior design and biophilic buildings and Installations for organisations such as John Lewis, The Accor Hotel Group, The Crick Institute, Booking.com and Bloomberg and Interface. Their research-led approach results in designs that truly support natural systems and human wellbeing – emphasising proven benefits that create spaces that enhance mood and productivity whilst reducing illness and absenteeism.
Oliver Heath Design also offers biophilic design courses for designers, architects, students, professionals and hobbyists with a passion for nature and wellbeing.
Oliver lives and breathes these ideas in his own life, too. His environmental refurbishment of his Brighton home demonstrates principles of healthy happy spaces, low-energy living, re-use and ingenious recycling. The house has been awarded Super Home status by the Sustainable Energy Academy for reducing its carbon emissions by over 75% and won the Best Refurbishment Prize from the BIDA.
Oliver studied architecture at Oxford Brookes University and then completed a Postgraduate in Architectural Studies (with distinction) at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. He went on to work in exhibition and set design before winning the BBC’s Young Designer of the Year in 1998.
