Michael Maisey – Inspirational Speaker on Kindness and Empathy
Michael Maisey is a NonProfit Founder, Author, Mentor and an inspirational speaker on how change is possible and the importance of empathy and kindness.
Michael Maisey has built a career on kindness, overcoming adversity and healthy masculinity. He knows that if these concepts are introduced, they can bring about life changing results and lead to a more purposeful life. He is passionate about social responsibility in business and applauds all companies who embrace it.
Michael survived a turbulent and traumatic childhood that resulted in him joining a gang and eventually being imprisoned at sixteen. Reformed and humbled by the acts of kindness he experienced following his prison sentence, Michael embarked on an exhaustive journey of self development determined to change his life. In 2012 he set up a successful business in his home town in London. His company was founded on the principles of honesty and integrity. Not only did he earn the respect of his clients and employees but also the locals in the community.
He built an award winning business which is still operating today, was able to give back to his community and helped those who had followed the same path as he once did. As a result, in 2014 he was honoured by the London Borough of Hounslow and the Metropolitan Police for his services to the community.
Twenty years after the armed robbery that changed his life, Michael Maisey is 16 years sober, an accomplished TEDx speaker and the founder of a nonprofit organisation, the CIP Project. The CIP project helps over 2000 people each year with addiction, mental health, PTSD and childhood trauma, at his 25 acre outdoor retreat centre in Devon and running workshops in schools, colleges and prisons across the UK.
His autobiography, Young Offender, published in 2019 by Pan MacMillan, won two literary awards and featured as a best seller.
