Lurata Lyon
Lurata Lyon is a motivational speaker, public speaking, and presentation coach.
At 17 years of age, Lurata fell a victim of kidnap by Human Trafficking and Organ Harvesting gang during the split of former Yugoslavia. She was kept in a dark small room, locked up for 6 months in solitary confinement abused, beaten, and fearing for her life.
After finally, eventually getting rescued, Lurata was brought to the UK as a political refugee and is now an international public speaking and presentation skills coach and a motivational speaker.
Lurata was the founder of a fitness business and ultimately moved into the coaching circuit – successfully running her own personal training business from 2005 to 2013. The business focused on delivering 5-star training, injury rehabilitation, nutritional advice, and personal programs. She moved to Singapore in April 2014 and stayed until 2018 taking a tried, tested, and successful training program to market and tailoring specifically to local/regional companies and their workforce.
In addition to being a motivational speaker, she is also on the advisory board of the charity Help Children Now where she has been helping refugees in Ukraine reach safety.
She is in the process of publishing her first book based on her life story and was recently interviewed by the New York Times best-selling author Ralph Pezzullo on Heroes behind the Podcast –

Through her coaching business, Lurata help audiences explore how they can make better connections in their professional life and their personal life, how to overcome their obstacles so they are happier, and how to be more positive and have better outcomes.
She also speaks of how she became the personification of resilience through her most brutal, life-changing experience: human trafficking.
Her speaking topics cover –
- Human Resilience
- Changing mindset (Overcoming obstacles)
- Health and well-being (Fitness)
- The impact of communication skills
- Mastery of prevention skills (how that impacts confidence in the individual performance at work and overall)
“Lurata spoke of human resilience and mindset at an event for us in Singapore. Her horrific story about what she has endured and her determination to survive and thrive against all the odds, left us moved, inspired, and motivated to believe the human spirit can withstand far more than we can imagine and how channeling that belief can help us overcome all manner of obstacles to reach and succeed in our goals.”

I knew Luratas story to some extent, but little did I know how her experience and her speech can blow people away. She is very engaging, funny, humble, and down-to-earth yet wise, knowledgeable, experienced, and inspiring. I couldn’t have wished to have had anyone else for our event. Totally and utterly mind-blowing speech.
