Katie Derham
Broadcaster, Conference Facilitator and Awards Host
Katie Derham is a former News Presenter and now Radio 3 Presenter, who presents the Proms on BBC television and is a fantastic conference host and awards host.
Known to many initially as a newsreader Katie spent the first 15 years of her broadcasting career in current affairs, first at the BBC then at ITV’s as there youngest ever newsreader.
She has since moved away from mainstream news and is a presenter on BBC Radio 3 and is one of the station’s best-known voices.
She has been presenting the BBC Proms since 2010 and hosts the weekly magazine show Proms Extra every Saturday on BBC2 during the season.
She continues to makes documentaries for the BBC including presenting The Girl from Ipanema: Brazil, Bossa Nova, and the Beach, which saw her traveling to Rio de Janeiro. She was the host of All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge for BBC4 and Fine Tuned, two specials for Sky Arts in which she discussed music with Alexander Armstrong alongside exclusive performances from his latest albums.
Katies has taken part in Strictly Come Dancing and reached the final, in 2017 she was crowned Strictly Christmas champion.
