Project Limitless
Maria Conceciao is an innovator, humanitarian, and the first Portuguese woman to summit Everest or trek to the North and South Pole. She’s a philanthropist, a teacher, a mother figure to dozens of successful young people – and a compelling public speaker who elevates her audience as she relates her own incredible journey.
Maria started a charity for those who live in the slums of Bangladesh and she has gone on and helped 101 families and more than 600 children get an education. Among other things, she built one of the most advanced schools in Bangladesh, despite not even having completed grade 6 herself.
In July 2024 Maria reached the summit of K2 making her the first Portuguese women to reach the summit of two peaks above 8000ft and in October 2024 she summited Puncak Jaya in Indonesia making Maria only the 77th person to complete the Explorers Grand Slam and the first Portuguese person to accomplish this.
Now in 2025 she launches Project Limitless where she will attempt to complete the highest 14 peaks in the world. Having already climbed Everest and K2 she will attempt to climb 6 of the remaining peaks in 2025 and the last 6 in 2026.
