Darren Edwards Seven Marathons
In October 2022, Darren Edwards is attempting to become the first person with a disability to complete the grueling World Marathon Challenge (7 marathons, 7 days, 7 continents) unsupported and in a wheelchair.
He aims to raise £100,000 for the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team which would pay for 20 injured/wounded veterans to experience the freedom of alpine/nordic skiing (as well as snowboarding) at the annual AFPST training camp in 2023. £100,000 would fund the entire project.
Scamp Speakers are delighted to be supporting Darren on his journey and will keep you posted on how the challenge goes.
If you would be interested in sponsoring Darren more details can be found on his Just Giving Page.
ABOUT DARREN
On the 6th of August 2016, Darren Edwards life changed forever. Whilst rock climbing in North Wales, he was involved in a near-fatal climbing accident that would leave him paralysed from the chest down for the rest of his life. He was incredibly fortunate to survive, but life would never be the same again.
Since that day, Darren has been on a journey of rediscovery and has refused to let a disability stop him from dreaming big and taking on tough challenges. In June 2021, he was part of a world-first expedition (Kayak 4 Heroes) to kayak from Land’s End to John O’ Groats by a team of adaptive adventurers.
