Being a Parent
In the last year or so we have had enquiries from clients for speakers who can share their own lived experiences on the menopause, dealing with grief, and mental health.
We have also had a recent a few enquiries around being a parent and managing that work/life balance and the importance of a supportive family.
These are few speakers we work with who talk on their experiences of being a parent and their own struggles and how they managed their work/life balance.
Katy Ashworth is an Actress, TV presenter, Singer, and keynote speaker on children’s mental health.
She has been a household name in the UK and worldwide for appearing on the BAFTA award-winning children’s TV channel CBeebies since 2009 as the host of I Can Cook, presenting daily links in the CBeebies House, appearances on Justin’s House, Blue Peter, CBeebies Proms and multiple CBeebies Christmas shows including Aladdin and Strictly Cinderella. One of her talks is called Play Connection –
“Play Connection” – This talk is specifically aimed at full-time working parents. As a full-time working and part-time studying single mum with no financial support, Katy has struggled with difficult behaviour from her children as a result of her schedule and their lack of connection with her. In this talk, she speaks candidly about her mistakes and her experience of understanding the true connection and play through her experience as a play therapist and a parent and how we can create a true connection with our children and avoid difficult behaviours whilst maintaining our own energy levels, work and personal life.
Dan Reed is a dad of two beautiful children and the Founder of Career Dad, where Dan speaks on equality and gender diversity; flexible working; and, career progression.
He is currently Head of Digital Servicing for Small Business at Barclaycard Payments and a former Senior Strategist within the Digital Strategy Group at Adobe.
Dan works with organisations by helping them support dads at work – which ultimately supports mums, too; helping to solve gender divert and pay issues. Dan speaks to employees and companies about being a Career Dad, as well as flexible working hours, career progression and how they can help support those that want a better work-life balance.
TOBI ASARE
Tobi Asare is a dynamic and engaging speaker who has inspired audiences throughout the UK as a leading expert on working parenthood. With over a decade of experience in leadership positions and thousands of women impacted by her online content, Tobi brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her presentations.
Tobi is the Founder of My Bump Pay, Senior Business Leader and Author of the highly acclaimed The Blend- How to Successfully Manage a Career and a Family. She has worked with a wide range of clients, from FSTE 100 companies to non-profits and government departments.
Naila Kiani is the leading Pakistani female mountaineer and inspirational speaker and is the only female climber in Pakistan and MENA to have summited 11 peaks above 8000 meters.
Naila has now summited Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Lhotse, Annapurna, Gasherbrum-I, Gasherbrum-II, Manaslu, Cho Oyu and Makalu. She is the third Pakistani to climb 11 peaks overall. Naila is also the fastest Pakistani climber to have summited 11 x 8000ers in under three years of starting mountaineering. She is one of the 10 climbers in the world who have climbed multiple (7+) peaks above 8000 meters in less than 6 months in 2023.
Naila’s mantra is that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. She encourages others to dream big and believe in themselves, irrespective of the life phase they are in.
She speaks on the challenge of embarking on such feats and the dual role of navigating the ups and downs of parenthood at the same time.
